(News Reporter:Huiqi Liu, Keke Li) On November 7th, the seminar on Environmental and High-quality Development of Freshwater Fisheries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was held in the State Key Laboratory of Microbiology of our university.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Aquatic Technology Extension Station, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Ocean University, Haida Group and other institutions attended the seminar.

The seminar was divided into three topics under the theme of "Environmental and high-quality development of freshwater fisheries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt under the background of theTen-YearFishing Ban Plan of the Yangtze River".

At first, Wenxuan Cao, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that many aquatic organisms in the Yangtze River are now in danger or even extinct. The overfishing, harrowing snails, destroying aquatic vegetation and dredging sand will destroy the aquatic ecosystem and cause the decline of aquatic biological resources. He stressed thatthe ten-year ban on fishing would restore biodiversity and maintain ecological balance. And thenQifa Zhang, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that China's agriculture is undergoing profound changes, and we need to adapt to the new needs and createthe new models to lead the new flow.

Later the participants around the "Innovative ideas and technology of resources protection and utilization of germplasm resources and water environment in Yangtze river", "Idea and measures of ecological, refined and intelligent development of the freshwater fisheryin the Yangtze river economic belt", "Security measures andsuggestionsof changing work and living peacefully for fishermen" three aspects discussed. This meeting introduced the working idea of the protection and utilization of aquatic germplasm resources, the application and exploration of cutting-edge technologies, the conservation of fishery resources and the situation of the integrated management, development and utilization of fishery resources. This meetingalso expounded the development trend and demand of freshwater fishery engineering technology and how should enterprises do it.

During the meeting,the participants also discussed the proposal for environmental and high-quality development of freshwater fisheries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, reached consensus on the green and high-quality development of freshwater fisheries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and formed suggestions for promoting it.

This workshop is under the background of ten-years fishing plan in Yangtze river, in view ofthe ideas and measures for the high-quality development of freshwater fisheryin the Yangtze river economic belt,provides exchange platformfor the department of industry, the various universities and research institutesin Yangtze river economic belt to provide, to form the suggestionfor high-quality development of the Yangtze river economic belt green, providing reference for thenational policy-making.
