15:00-16:30 on April 15, Yingjie Liu, vice president of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) , visited the fisheries forum of our university through Tencent Cloud Conference. In the report, he discussed the latest news of fishery science and technology research and mentioned the international cooperation with teachers and students from three aspects including the basic background, hotspots and trends of China's fishery research and international cooperation. The report was presided over by Professor Zexia Gao. More than 200 teachers and students of Fisheries College participated in the online academic report. This report also attracted experts and students from Henan Normal University, Yangtze River Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanhai Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences and some researchers from local fisheries departments.

Dr. Liu firstly expressed his respect and concern to the heroic Wuhan residents and the teachers and students of Huazhong Agricultural University. After that, the international competitiveness of China's fishery export was introduced so as to bring out the main problems and current solutions of China's fishery. Dr. Liu also introduced the five major actions taken by Xi Jinping thought as guidance for the green and healthy aquaculture, which emphasized that the direction of alternative feed and enhancement of the quality of aquaculture industry need to be further promoted. Then, from two aspects of strategic demand and industrial research and judgment, Dr. Liu interpreted the “National Medium- and Long-Term Program for Science and Technology Development 2021-2035”, the progress of Special Project of Blue Granary” and “the environmental investigation of fishery resources in important waters”. Based on his own experience, President Liu reported the hot spots and trends of China's fishery from three aspects: resource-saving fishing industry, environment-friendly aquaculture industry and consumption oriented processing industry and discussed the international cooperation of fishery science and technology with an open attitude. From the perspective of internationalization, President Liu mentioned the layout of the world's fishery science and technology forces, the support and cooperation of enterprises going global as well as the personnel training. In the end of the report, Liu emphasized the basic standards of international cooperation in fishery science and technology, which included the systematic planning, coordinated cooperation, keeping a low profile, improving your internal skills and moving forward pragmatically.
